10x Vintage shops in Rotterdam that are worth a visit!
Are you a real vintage freak or would you like to purchase a unique item for a change, we listed 10 beautiful vintage stores in Rotterdam that are definitely worth it to drop by! We made a selection of stores that will speak to anyone, whether you are a budgetshopper, pin-up fanatic or just a die-hard vintage hoarder.
Zwaanshals 276B | On the Zwaanshals you can dive into the world of vintage at Margootje Vintage. Not only through the racks with carefully selected clothes and shoes along the walls, but also through the further design of the small shop: the old records on the wall, the rugs on the floor and the small, special trinkets in the old-fashioned closets. The shop of Margot Duran is definitely worth a visit, for both men and women!
Zwaanshals 329a | Also the Zwaanhals in Rotterdam North is a street well worth visiting if you love vintage. Volle Kast is one of the vintage shops you'll spot there. At Volle Kast (full closet) you can buy secondhand designer clothes for women and children. Nice labels for a fine price. Since kids grow out of their clothes in no time, it's a pleasure to save some money and still be able to buy cute brands.
Zwaanshals 374 | Sweet and feminine, that's Lily Scarlet. Who steps into Lily Scarlet will feel like they are in some kind of retro fairytale. What started out as a clothing brand has now become a real vintage shop on Zwaanshals and online shop. Owner Gerda sells hand-made and vintage inspired clothing as well as real vintage clothes from the 30's to 60's. And with many vintage hats, stockings, and earrings there is no shortage of accessories either. Lily Scarlet also offers a very special service to brides to be: they design and create custom bridal gowns. Because let's face it, life is better when you are wearing a petticoat!
Zaagmolenkade 43 | Showroom 41 is much more than just a vintage shop. It's also a barber shop and you can get your make-up done: the owner used to work as a make-up artist for big fashion magazines. So you can walk out of there with a complete new look. Showroom 41 focuses on high end vintage: beautiful brands and a lot of clothes from the 80's. All the items are in perfect condition: shoe soles are replaced and all the garments are checked piece by piece, and repaired if necessary. The owner also designs her own line: L.I.O.N.E. You can buy this line, made of vintage material, at Showoom 41 as well. Her studio is located above the store. Don't have time to leave the house for some vintage shopping? You can also shop online in the webshop!
Ruby Lee and the Vintage Factory
Nieuwe Binnenweg 255a | The Nieuwe Binnenweg is a real vintage walhalla! The long street has something to offer for every vintage lover: from shoes and clothing to tableware. For example, you'll find the cute store Ruby Lee and the Vintage Factory there. The store is cozy but yet neatly organized. The owner describes the style of the shop as 'Americana'. You'll find wool sweaters, leather skirts, leather bags and nice accessoires. Everything is nicely sorted per item type, which makes it easier to look for a specific piece. The owner has worked in a lot of clothing stores before she opened Ruby Lee. She also used to work as a fashion designer. Eventually her love for vintage won, and she opened this store two years ago. Two months ago Ruby Lee's 'little sister' opened: Savage Lily in Disguise. Savage Lily is also located on the Nieuwe Binnenweg and has a totally different appearance than Ruby Lee. Go see for yourself!
Nieuwe Binnenweg 89b | In the same street where you find Ruby Lee and Savage Lily, you also come across Sister Moon. This vintage shop already exists for more than twenty years! At Sister Moon you find not only unique vintage items, they also sell new clothing. The collection is supplemented with cute items every month, coming straight from Paris. The owner, Ron, travels regularly to this fashion capital with one of his stylists to collect new pieces for the shop. The store is cozy and colorful. And yes, Sister Moon also offers vintage for the gentleman among us.
Eendrachtsweg 55a | In a corner building at the Eendrachtsweg in the Witte de With block you find Dearhunter Vintage. The shop started out small: together with a barber shop in one room. Nowadays, Dearhunter Vintage has become a beautiful shop on it's own. The store is very spacious and bright, because of the high ceiling and big windows. The shop has such a neat and calm atmosphere, despite the diversity: every item is unique, but yet the whole collection seems to fit together.
Witte De Withstraat 19A | In the middle of the Witte de Withstraat, you will find Episode, a classic among the vintage shops and a Walhalla for lovers. Whether you're looking for cut-off Levi's, a sleek blouse or the perfect lammy coat, you'll definitely find it at Episode. The store is full of hidden treasures! Take your time and who knows, you might also find that special vintage find.
Meent 25 | Cheap Fashion has been a household name for over 30 years for many vintage fans in Rotterdam. From secondhand to real vintage, you can find everything you are looking for. At Cheap Fashion you will find clothing suitable for daily wear, parties and even the right outfit for a dress-up party. With two stories, both with clothing for men and women, and a large assortment of amazing accessories, Cheap Fashion is the go-to for many vintage lovers. And with new items coming in weekly, you will be able to find that one special vintage find in no time.
Bobby Pin Boutique
Insulindestraat 46 | In one of the Hofbogen in Rotterdam North you will find a true paradise for the vintage fanatic, Bobby Pin Boutique. Bobby Pin Boutique has a beautiful collection of vintage treasures, originating from the 30's to 60's. Very special are their 'deadstock' items, that are unworn and brand-new. Besides clothing you will also find accessories, bags, home-deco and gifts inspired or from a past time. Bobby Pin Boutique opens once a month during their Vintage Shop Weekend, but fortunately it is also possible to shop online or make an appointment for a shopping session. The boutique also offers workshops where you will learn to create flowerpins and fascinators. So put on some red lipstick, stick those bobby pins in your hair to fasten your victory rolls and go to Bobby Pin Boutique for the real vintage experience. Note: they'll move in April '19.
