Bar Pulpo
From a tiny oyster-and-octopus stand in the Foodhallen to a fully-fledged seafood spot in the Veerhaven, Bar Pulpo Rotterdam has definitely found its sea legs. This restaurant takes you straight to the Mediterranean and is loud in the best way.
Think clinking glasses, happy chatter and guests gathered around seafood platters like the Family Bucket, overflowing with crab claws, langoustines, prawns and shellfish.
The rest of the menu brings together all things from the sea (and a few from land). You’ll find grilled octopus skewers, calamari a la plancha, buttery prawns and a smoked eel risotto that might just steal the show. Even the veggies hold their own, like their whole grilled artichoke with green dressing. Not into seafood? No worries. There’s also a grilled rib-eye sandwich that more than delivers. Add a side of ultra-thin fries with roasted garlic mayo, get your drink of choice (we recommend getting the party started with the extravagant pink cava sangria) and settle in for a proper feast!
Bar Pulpo Rotterdam is all about mixing, matching and sharing, whether you drop by solo for a crab croquette and a glass (or two) at the bar or go all out with the whole seafood shebang. It’s loud, warm, deliciously messy and always full of people who know how to eat. It’s the kind of place you bring your friends, your grandma or your date. Just come hungry!
