It all started in 2006 with a batch of tubular frame chairs and two friends, Rick and Olger, who had a passion for vintage design. Their hobby of restoring iconic furniture quickly grew into a serious business. When they moved into the old engine room of an agricultural company, the original sign reading Machinekamer still hung on the door — and the name stuck!
Today, that same love for design lives on. From authentic vintage finds and reissued Dutch icons like the Galvanitas S16, to a growing collection of in-house creations, De Machinekamer blends old soul with fresh vision. Every piece is crafted or restored with care. No mass production, just honest materials, layered character and a whole lot of intention. Their new designs are carefully produced in Europe, a nod to their dedication to quality and craft.
