Rotterdam might be thousands of kilometres from Asia, but once you step into Round & Round Rotterdam you’ll feel as if you’ve actually been transported to a tiny dessert café in Tokyo or Taipei.
Opened in 2016 by two creative expats with a love for cross-cultural flavour, this charming cake shop has been serving up sweet moments ever since. And let’s be real, it’s hard to leave without smiling (or taking a photo).
The vibe? Think soft forest tones, wooden accents, plants, cushions and a hand-painted wall filled with woodland creatures. It’s calm, cosy and a little bit magical — the perfect backdrop for the stars of the show: their seasonal cake rolls. These colourful, low-fat beauties are made with natural sugars and ingredients like matcha, red yeast rice and sweet beans, using local and Japanese suppliers. Light, fluffy, never too sweet and always ridiculously cute!
