Wildstube

Step off the street and into a wilder world. Tucked into a cosy souterrain on the Van Vollenhovenstraat, Wildstube feels like a rustic Alpine hunting lodge — all wood, warmth and the scent of something good on the grill.

It’s part Bayerische Stube, part hidden Biergarten and fully dedicated to the flavours of wild meat.

The menu is a tribute to nature, built around seasonal ingredients, local veg and foraged flavours, and the depth of the outdoors. From juicy venison stew and hare cooked with wild herbs to crispy croquettes of summer game, slow-roasted birds from the rotisserie and even a jackfruit stew for vegan guests, every dish is prepared with care and deep respect for the land. The wild game is sustainably sourced, always hunted by hand, and offers a more honest, animal-friendly alternative to industrial meat.

Stop by for a laid-back lunch or an evening of proper Alpine-style dining. At midday, it’s all about bites and drinks like wild charcuterie platters to share and cold German wines and beers. In the evening, things slow down and warm up, with rich flavours, candlelight and the clink of a Riesling. And when the sun’s out? Head straight to the hidden Biergarten! Open all day and fitted with heated cushions for when the summer evenings need a little help.
