Bar Dertien
Crooswijk just got a whole lot tastier. Meet Bar Dertien, a brand-new foodie favourite located in Rotterdam right next to the (also new) coffee hotel on the Linker Rottekade (yep, at number 13!).
This fresh-faced newcomer is the brainchild of hospitality veteran Daan Wagner, who’s swapping pretense for personality, and white tablecloths for bold flavours and seriously nice wine.
The vibe? Unfussy, but spot-on. At Bar Dertien Rotterdam, the menu shifts with the seasons, with chef Olmo van Duin whipping up playful, creative dishes that are big on taste and low on ego. No fixed menu, no wine list full of complicated terms, just thoughtful, ever-changing plates, a mighty wine selection and house made sodas and syrups that taste like sunshine. Add six beers on tap, a love for fermentation and a no-Fanta policy (unless you ask very nicely), and you’ve got a bar that keeps things interesting.
Bar Dertien Rotterdam may be located inside the Man Met Bril Koffiehotel, but it’s very much doing its own thing. It’s a standalone spot with its own kitchen, team and vibe. The two do share a sunny terrace, bathrooms and even oven power, and yes: they’re teaming up for room service too.
Drop by for a drink, stay for the food and if the night runs long, there are fifteen hotel rooms waiting upstairs. Looks like that sleepover might just be part of the plan!
