Plaisier AvantGarde
Plaisier AvantGarde Rotterdam will literally have you believing in love at first sight. Located in the heart of Rotterdam, this interior design boutique is the groovy little sister of Plaisier Interieur — her 127-year-old big brother in suburban Ridderkerk.
A few years ago, owners Robert and Niels Plaisier decided it was time for a cutting-edge hub right here in the city. You’ll often find Robert himself in the shop, designing interiors and helping customers discover the perfect gift or the chair of their dreams.
Expect an exquisite selection of furniture, lighting and accessories from their extensive Plaisier collection. Think sustainable brands like Vitra, Arco, Muuto, Fritz Hansen and Artifort, effortlessly mixed with new works by Dutch designers such as Nanette de Kool, Paul & Albert and David Derksen. And of course, you’ll spot iconic objects by masters like Eames, Jacobsen, Prouvé, Paulin, Rietveld, Gispen and – Robert’s personal favourite – Achille Castiglioni.
But Plaisier AvantGarde Rotterdam is more than just a design shop. It’s a cultural space too, hosting art exhibitions, workshops, movie nights and inspiring talks about design, art and architecture all year round — connecting like-minded souls in a city full of creative energy. So leave the window shopping behind, step inside and get ready to fall for good design, hard.
